Music Playlist Challenge: "Electric Twist" - A Fine Frenzy

Here is "Electric Twist" by A Fine Frenzy. I was inspired by the music video with the yellow she wore and the black heels she wore. I went with something girly and flirty because that's kind of the style Alison Sudol pulled.



A couple things:
  • I usually wear these black leather boots every single day, it's too cold to wear heels and walk 20 minutes to campus, but I can dream. 
  • I really like this yellow shirt, yellow is an amazing color
  • I really love the coral nails I painted
  • I really need to spend a little more time with my camera set-up so my pictures will be in focus....
  • And I really need to find a better place where I don't have to explain to everybody in my complex that I'm practicing my camera skills, haaa.
  • And I really need to find a place with privacy, sheesh.
  • My hair really misses those days where I don't use my mother's hair concoction of chamomile tea and vinegar.
  • I feel really muscley lately and not very feminine, trying to compensate with skirts but I'm just feeling fat when I do that. :S
  • I'm ready for summer, my skin and body are done with winter.

Although this was actually for a Christmas party, since I knew my New Years would be unremarkably casual attire, I pulled out the gold sequins earlier in the month. Daring Greatly

Most outfits I wear don't spark controversy. But for some reason this one did:  After reinventing my wardrobe and cleaning it up, I'm finding I am able to think up more creative combinations for outfits because I can see more. So, less is more is the moral of that story. But I saw some past outfits where people took summer "jumper" dresses, paired them with button-ups underneath, and gave them a fresh, almost Indie-look. So when I realized I could wear this dress another way, I instantly pulled it out and chose what I felt was the most interesting and suitable combination - my buffalo plaid top. I stepped out of my room and my roommate immediately took a look and, very unlike her, said, "Hey, just wanted to let you know, that top and dress don't match." Music Challenge Recap

Phew, it took almost a year to complete this task, but I completed my second music challenge !   For those who don't remember or don't know, my older sister I Get Dressed currently runs a fashion blog and inspired me to turn my old one (formerly eclectic rocking) from a database of pictures (which Pinterest now fulfilled that need in my life) to a daily documentation of what outfits I wore.  Once we got the hang of pictures and were starting to get bored with our outfits, we had a conversation about two years ago about how a lot of music inspires fashion . So we decided to push ourselves creatively by giving each other a set of songs that we had to create outfits for.
