The Ballad of the Blonde

I had my birthday this week, and this what I wore on my Golden Birthday (22 on the 22nd). Birthdays are wonderful occasions where you can dress up a little more, and I often find wearing more colors helps burst me into the celebratory mood. Do you find yourself wearing more colors too on your birthday, or is that just a me thing? Anyway, I scored this dress on sale the night before my birthday, I was on the quest for a perfect shirtdress so bingo! I just didn't plan to buy it in hot-pink because I'm traditionally way too much of a tomboy to consider anything that would be pink and lace, but I liked it more in pink than white, shockingly. Also gave a go at using gold sharpie with teal nails to copy this pin I found on Pinterest , judging by the weird tint the gold produced, I'm thinking my nails fall under one of the nailed it pins .  Anyway, I had a great birthday, thank you all for making it wonderful! Jenna already answered what outfit was one dollar from this blog post , but for everyone else, it was the skirt. Goodwill does a deal on Thursdays where specific color tags are one dollar. I got lucky one Thursday evening with the wonderful floral maxi skirt. So this is making me think I should write about the places I shop and get major discounts soon.

Moving back to the city has been kind to my wardrobe. This outfit consisted of mostly older things that exist in my wardrobe, but I bought the accessories recently that gave them a fresh new look. I was inspired by Olivia Palermo's chic picture with leopard-print heels that since inspired me to find a pair as well. I got lucky and found these at Buffalo Exchange, which is awesome, because I never find shoes there. Needless to say I am extremely happy with these new (old) shoes I acquired. And of course, the snap shot prize goes to the random pouty face shot that I didn't notice until it popped up on my computer. Apparently I wasn't happy to be taking pictures or something, haha. Why is this post titled "One. Dollar?" Well, first of all, this whole outfit is under 50 dollars. Secondly, every piece was obtained at outlet stores and second-hand thrift shops. And thirdly, which piece was one dollar? I was going to answer and brag, but maybe I'll leave that for you to guess and decide. I will tell you though, I got the said item on Thursday at Goodwill, which means, dollar night. I gotta say, it's great to be back at a place where the hunting is thrilling, and fashion is exciting again. :)
