Phew, sorry for the delay! First I had finals, then I had moving apartments, and then I lost my camera charger. Well, I got a charger again, and a haircut, and a new spirit to take pictures again. Happy Spring!

The Monday Mix: Favorite of the Year - Wingtips

Image
I'm sure you are soooooo sick of seeing me wearing these stinkers in like, oh, you know, every other outfit for the last year. I got them in late July/August. I had already finished most of my back-to-school shopping and had run my budget dry. UNTIL THESE CAME ALONG IN MY LIFE. Twenty dollars at Vans, had just recently fell in love with the "Moses Supposes" dance scene in Singing in the Rain, how could I say no??? Well, glad I coughed up a little bit more money for these because they have been the prize jewel of this year. I'm looking to maybe getting a identical pair of them since they are so worn out now. They have been excellent for all seasons, all occasions, oh how these Wingtips have been loved.

The Monday Mix: Signature Pieces - THE Red Sweater

Image
Over three years ago when it was 110 degrees in the middle of the summer and I was on the quest for new college clothes, my mom, my sister, and I had stopped at a huge Anthropologie sale. Let me tell you this sweater was the last thing I wanted to try on or buy when it was blazing hot outside. This has also been another perennial, tried-and-true piece. Although I don't have a whole lot of pictures of me wearing it, I can tell you I wore it so many times I was embarrassed to have it lined up in a row on my blog so I wouldn't shoot. But yes, thank you sister and mother for talking me into this sweater, I'm so glad I got it that day!

Music Playlist Challenge: "White Sky" - Vampire Weekend

Image
You know, I couldn't for the life of me get the outfit I thought up on for Vampire Weekend's "White Sky," I was really going to sport my white dress but I definitely knew that Vampire Weekend required quirky prep too and those two things just weren't mixing in my head. So here's my quirky prep, because White Sky, Ottoman, M79, Diplomat's Son, yeah they are all about privileged preppy teenagers with identity crises and indie-rebel tendencies in my mind. Also, I'm really short! Remind me to set the tripod up at a lower angle so I don't look like the shrimp that I am. Skirt, vintage Sweater, Gap (gift) Gingham Button-up, Forever 21 Belt, Vintage Earrings, Old Navy Shoes, ....can't remember the store's name. Starry Eyed - Ellie Goulding White Sky - Vampire Weekend Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop - Landon Pigg Electric Twist - A Fine Frenzy What You Waiting For - Gwen Stefani (clean version) It's Not Unusual - Gl...

The Monday Mix: Signature Pieces - Black Textured Skirt

Image
I am looking at some of my old outfits and realizing what pieces have been tried-and-true, genuinely versatile pieces. I thought I might start sharing with you the different ways I've worn these staples, because one of my biggest requirements when it comes to picking out an article of clothing is imagining at least three or four outfits with it. I'm kind of at a point where I feel "stumped" and just want to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. But instead  I'm going to look back and see how I can mix up new clothes. I'm really debating starting the blog-famous "30 for 30" challenge, but until then, enjoy some of the chameleons. Let me start with possibly my most favorite. Once upon a time I saw a black skirt with floral texture and I knew I wanted it. Well, that feeling stuck for three plus years until I found this absolutely perfect one at Buffalo Exchange. I looked with frustration for so long, thinking, if I could find a flared black s...
