The second to last song for the challenge!!! I totally went by the tone of the song and the music video for this one. Music Playlist Challenge: "Just a Dream" - Nelly

Image
When I put this outfit on I was listening to Nelly's "Just a Dream", but when I got a chance to look at the picture, I didn't get quite the same vibes from it. However, I knew for quite a while I wanted to do a color scheme of blue. I tried it with this flowy skirt I had but it didn't work out so I switched to jeans. And I'm hooked on the cuffed look right now. The song was sad and the music video had a lot of tints of saturated blue, black, and white so I chose to follow that theme. Blue blouse - gifted Striped Cardigan - Forever21 Jeans - American Eagle Belt - NY&C Shoes - Vans Bracelet - Icing The Rest: Pictures of You- The Last Goodnight Call Me Irresponsible- Michael Buble Club Can’t Even Handle Me- Flo Rida If It’s Love- Train Tug of War- Catherine Papworth Miss Independent- Ne-Yo Thinking of You- Katy Perry Why Wait- Rascal Flats Just a Dream- Ne...

Workout Wardrobe

Image
This is what I've been wearing when you don't see posts (or when you do)...yep, been training for my second half-marathon and my running clothes have become a strangely valuable asset to my wardrobe. Although this wasn't cute workout clothes (function is very important when you do 13.1 miles), I would love to emphasize the importance of investing a little bit more than baggy t-shirts and sweatpants into your looks when you workout. Why? Buying clothes you like the look of make you want to find occasions to wear them - therefore, if you are a style junkie like me at all, sometimes it's fun to throw together clothes for your healthy lifestyle. Fitness magazine stated that if you wear more attractive, fitting clothes when you work out you will work harder during it. Although it feels intimidating at first to wear stretchy fabrics that hug, well, everything, it gives me a higher sense of confidence when I can see the results during my fitness goals. You're al...

I transitioned my summer bird dress for fall, I like it a lot with tights. I think it looks better in person, personally. I got a lot of positive attention from people, guys and girls alike in it. Bird Dress, Buffalo Exchange Belt, Goodwill Tights, Kohls or NY&C Camisole, ehhh.... Shoes, H&M

10 Seconds to Shoot

Image
Here is the joy of taking pictures in hiding all by yourself without a tripod. It takes time, and I didn't have that at this moment, lol. Anyway, I had fun playing with blues.  Jeans, AE Sandals, Mexican Thrift store Light Blue Button-Up, NY&C Striped Cardigan, Forever 21

I am a Muscle

Image
I am doing a half marathon on Saturday, so last week I just felt wearing something close fitting and comfy. I realized these pants are probably too big for me now. I'm not losing as much weight as I did from the previous marathon (because, ha, I eat), but I've gained a lot more strength and muscle this time around. So I kind of feel weird stocky right now but I feel like I'm hitting the point where it will probably come off gradually. Either way I feel incredibly healthy, healthier than I did last year at this point in the training.

Lady Day

Image
I was looking at Pinterest this morning, got inspired by this outfit: I was trying the tucked in look but felt more inclined to go untucked for comfort reasons instead. Either way I felt like a lady today. :)  I can't believe how much different I look from today compared to yesterday, man, outfits really can change your mood! Cardigan, NY&C Skirt, Buffalo Exchange Wingtip Flats, Vans Belt, Calvin Klein (but got it at Goodwill) Camisole, Downeast Outfitters

Awkward Photos Day

Image
This was not a good day for me and using the time camera as you will see below the full-body shots all had some mistake in them, haha. Blouse, Anthropologie $20 Black Vest Thing, originally NY&C but really Buffalo Exchange Belt, NY&C Jeans, American Eagle Shoes, Last Chance

Music Playlist Challenge: "The Club Can't Handle Me" - Flo Rida

Image
Ok, I will confess, I turned this song on and my school comedy group's skit kept coming to mind, so really, "The Class Can't Handle Me" was what was running through my mind. So I went with the chicest nerd you could see. Needless to say the outfit made me feel like my class couldn't handle me. Basically I just got inspired by listening to the song over and over again while putting on. I decided to show how "cool" I was by rolling my skinny jeans up. Not sure if I'm the most amazing candidate for that look since I am short and have curves on my lower side but I enjoyed trying something new. Shirt, Goodwill $2 Cape Sweater, Buffalo Exchange, $15 Skinny Jeans, American Eagle $30 Loafers, Last Chance, $30 Belt keeping my pants up which you can't see, Gifted Alright, so what's left on the challenge? Music Playlist Challenge: "Rhythm of Love" - Plain White T's

Image
Well, this outfit was a good match for the song because the song kind of has a beachy, tropical feel and so does this outfit! I really liked this outfit, it was kind of thrown together quickly but was a great success. :) Happy "Rainbow" Dress, Buffalo Exchange Shawl, Buffalo Exchange Belt, Goodwill Shoes, Target Camisole, Downeast Basics What's left? Pictures of You- The Last Goodnight Call Me Irresponsible- Michael Buble Club Can’t Even Handle Me- Flo Rida If It’s Love- Train Tug of War- Catherine Papworth Miss Independent- Ne-Yo Thinking of You- Katy Perry Why Wait- Rascal Flats Just a Dream- Nelly Almost Lover- A Fine Frenzy Rhythm of Love- Plain White T’s Jar of Hearts- Christina Perri

The Last of our Dying Warm Days

Image
Well this is what I pretty much wore all summer! Surprise! I guess this is also why I was reluctant to blog, because my casual wardrobe was cool but not blog-worthy in my eyes. Anyway, I wanted to wear this while it stays warm just for a little longer.

Academic Interview

Image
I had an interview with the marketing study abroad professor this day, and since it wasn't a job and I had been doing loads of interviews, I got burned out with my standard interview uniform. I decided to go more creative since a marketing teacher probably would appreciate it more anyway. So I swapped out the blue button up for a very light pink one, with a blue cardigan. And I swapped out the black pencil skirt for the gray one. And slightly trendier accessories, but still the solid neutral colors. I was very happy with the results because I decided that it was time to be more creative in the business wardrobe department. And the interview went great, we will see if I'll be going afar with my business outfits this summer. :) Gray Pencil Skirt, Goodwill $4 Pink Button-Up Top, Buffalo Exchange (originally Banana Republic) $12 Cardigan, H&M $7 Heels, Target  $14 Fake Pearl Studs, Forever 21 $1 (Yes the outfit was all under approximat...
