Music Playlist Challenge: "Call Me Irresponsible" - Michael Buble

Image
Well, the man who sung this before Michael Buble was Frank Sinatra, and the whole song is very jazzy and 50s-60s feel to it, so I did a romantic retro almost-bombshell look, and here's what I produced. Next >> <

Music Playlist Challenge: "Tug of War" - Catherine Papworth

Image
So a Preface to this song: I Get Dressed and I have a friend who is a local celebrity. She is up and coming and everybody I talk to who is honest in their critic and possess very different tastes in music agree that she is incredibly talented and her music is really good, so I would encourage you to check it out, she's a indie-soul singer with a great set of pipes and a awesome acoustic sound, so check out Catherine Papworth and her music HERE . Well, after listening to the song I thought it called for a indie-musician girly look. Which came very naturally may I say, very happy to do it. Well, I got inspired also from Catherine Papworth's EP release party where she wore her hair on one said braided back and the other down and wavy, so I did a more casual asymmetric imitation of it. I also tried out green eyeliner and rose lipstain, but it's kind of hard to see. Yep, really enjoyed this one. Next>> <

Music Playlist Challenge: "Why Wait" - Rascal Flatts

Image
I listened to this number , and thought, "Great, what am I supposed to wear from a song about a country elopement?" Then I started imagining the girl who is listening to this country boy sing this to her and thought about what she would be wearing as he asks her to run off and marry him spontaneously. So I turned my western-style scarf into a headband and kept thinking of whites and reds since they are the symbolic colors for love and marriage. So there you go.

Music Playlist Challenge: "Pictures of You" - The Last Goodnight

Image
And here's my second one, folks. "Pictures of You" by The Last Goodnight . I will have to admit I got inspired from the Music Video mostly. The main singer is wearing a button up with a black vest in the video, and I really was into the clean lines. Then his guitarist was wearing a utilitarian-esque jacket so I threw on my sweater over to do a combination of the two artists. As for the beauty part I straightened my hair for the first time in forever! I got inspired from the sharp angular soft-punk appearance of the band. I went with blue eyeliner and blue-gray tones because the song has sad tones to it and sad lyrics "confess to me, every secret moment, every stolen promise you believe....All the lies between us...pictures of you, pictures of me, reminds us all of what we could've been". Do to the fact that the song is about photography and looking back, I was more particular with my pictures this time around too. So there you go. Next -> ...

Music Playlist Challenge: "Miss Independent" - Ne Yo

Image
The first one I chose to do was Ne Yo's "Miss Independent" . The lyrics include "look like a boss, talk like a boss" and the theme concerns being a girl who works and takes care of herself. Well, I had an interview today for a job so I let the song inspire my selection in clothes since they both required a business- attire theme. So here it is: Next >>

2nd Annual Music Challenge

Dear Readers, Sister I Get Dressed and I are doing it once again. Last year we decided to do a challenge where we gave each other 12 songs to inspire the outfits we chose to wear that day. Well, to kick off 2011 this year, we are doing it again! So the goal with this year's is to have makeup and hair that accompanies it well and maybe more detailed pictures so you can get a more whole effect. Here's a nice little flashback of the selections I did last year so you can get a slight idea of what's coming this way: Lightning Crashes by Live Evacuate the Dancefloor by Cascada Uprising by Muse Cowboy Casanova by Carrie Underwood Umbrella by Rihanna Soul Sister by Train Tidal Wave- Owl City Never Saw Blue Like that - Shawn Colvin Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles I'm Just a Girl - No Doubt I Dreamed a Dream - Susan Boyle/Les Miserables Consider Me Gone - Reba As for this year, here is the list of songs that my si...

2011 Fashion Resolutions

Buy pretty/supportive/enhancing underwear : I've lost twenty pounds, everything is too big, so I figured I could start with getting nice fundamentals because undergarments can either make or break an outfit right? Not to mention most of what I wear underneath has tons of shredding and parts falling apart and it's ridiculous. I would also like to get slips/shapewear that make pencil skirts and knits look smoother and cleaner. Clean Out Everything That Isn't Getting Worn and Donate Utilize Jewelry and Accessories More to Enhance Outfits: I tend to just go without when it comes to these things, but I would like to try more pearls and stuff to mix it up. And I am on the lookout for a statement necklace. Don't Be Afraid to Look Like I Could Hop on Stage and Sing a Ballad or Create a Sweet Low-Budget Music Video: by that I mean not to shy away from bolder fabrics like metallics and daring prints. Create Five to Seven Knock-Em-Dead Interview outfits : I start the ye...
