Color My World

Image
I was going to originally do a sweet vintage-y outfit but when I opened my closet this morning I realized that both the articles of clothing I was going to wear are going through a tailoring process, but I was so tired of wearing dresses to church. So I decided to go basic but use color to make it interesting, it worked well. I got compliments, primarily on my "cute waist" and motivated somebody to go to Yoga class so I consider it a success.

Wickedly Green With Envy

So I saw wicked for the first time. And I thought, "What could be more appropriate to wear than a green and black dress for this occasion?" So I thoroughly enjoyed it, and was happy to see that my favourite favourite dress was used to make even better memories and more occasions to wear it to than my slightly awkward senior homecoming. The next day I watched the Dark Knight for the first time, in which the character Rachel wore a fantastic number and I thought, "What is it about this evening dress I like so much?" And then, no brainer, it was dark emerald green! And let me tell you one thing, dark emerald green is my favourite color and I don't understand where the term "Ugly green dress" came from because I think most everybody looks great in dark green. So there you go. :)

Last Day in Europe: Tourist Chic Part Something

Image
Here is the last palace we saw. By this point I was tired of the extreme humidity and was ready to go home. I thought all the palaces kind of looked the same at this point, but was still happy to tour this one. It was funny to walk by and see tons of geese and swans swimming in the crafted lake and fountains in the front. It really painted this fantasy of a time I wish i could have lived in, but then I think about the hygiene conditions and I totally change my mind.  And here's where my first trip out of the country in style ends. But don't worry, America is the place where ideas flourish so there will be plenty of other great outfits to come. :)

My Standard Uniform for College

So yeah. My sister and my mom (and most anybody) claims that in the cold all you are going to want to wear is boots and a jacket, and knowing myself I am a total jeans girl. In the future when I don't take as many pictures because I will be busy with school it will probably because I'm wearing something of this nature. So here's another one of those glimpses into the future enjoy:

On the Beautiful Blue Danube: Tourist Chic Part III

Image
This scene existed right behind our hotel, in fact, it was the hotel's patio where we had breakfast every morning. This scene Strauss wrote a song for. And a very famous song which we all know if you heard it played: The Beautiful Blue Danube.  The Danube is beautiful. That is until I went for a walk down the beautiful sidewalk there as you see with one of the chaperones and discovered a huge transportation of cars on a boat, a lot of mud, and an icky green color by the bridge, but you know, Beautiful Green Danube kind of works too, right? It was a beautiful day and I wanted to cry because we were leaving this place. Goodbye my beautiful Vienna!

Summer Air

Fashion Challenge: Garage Band Indie Concert in....Hello the Mind Control's lead singer's garage and backyard. The weather? Hottest day of the year, debatedly. 110 peace of cake. So what's a girl to wear when she wants to impress cute musicians and super Indie stylish girls and not sweat to death? Well, for living in one of the hottest places, and a general summer philosophy remains the same: pick very light things which have a lot of interesting details. Editing. Having one special quirky piece. What I've observed is that guys and girls at garage band concerts can't go wrong with a vest or a scarf. I was going to wear jeans but it was just a little to much. My result, Success. :) I still sweated a lot, but I enjoyed all the great bands that played crazy songs about Brushing your teeth, rainbows, and the Summer Air. :)

Tourist Chic Part II

Here I am at Schonbrunn Palace, the Austrian Emperors' summer cottage, and i threw on my sweater early that day to find that it was actually hotter than I expected, so my sweater's debut sadly was cut short, but it did enjoy going to see all the pretty statues and the palace with over 2000 rooms with me. This is also in Vienna. This day we were in the streets by a huge Gothic Chapel and because almost every Austrian speaks English so our group started talking to this one guy who was standing in the street in a unusual gettup with flyers. He was a music student from a Spanish country, maybe Spain, and he was telling people who looked like they were American or not. And then I showed up and he said, in his Spanish accent, "You are not American." Humored, I replied, "I'm not?" and he asked, "No, what are you?" I explained how I was with these people but that I have Dutch heritage of some sorts. And he says, "Dutch? Ohhhh, like Polis...

Tourist Chic Part I

So my challenge to myself was to avoid looking like the standard tacky American tourist, which believe me I saw so many, while on my trip to Austria and Europe. It's very tempting when you're walking a whole lot, the weather fluctuates to steamy hot to pouring wet. So here's the first real day's outfit, and I was asked to wear the uniform orchestra tee shirt, so here's what I got out of something that could've been very blah:
